Located in the southern thrust of the Mammi Hills, this onetime Convent of the Zoccolanti was the fiefdom of the noble Lambardi family and became their residence following their exile from Arezzo.
By decision of Brother Mansueto Lambardi, the Convent of Giuncheto was founded. St. Agnese (St. Clare's sister) stayed there during the first part of the 13th century and founded a monastery of the order of Poor Clares of Assisi.
The Sisters of Giuncheto decided to leave the ancient monastery in 1554 due to continual raids by mercenary soldiers in Valdichiana.
The Renaissance-inspired building consists of two floors and is distinguished by a beautiful double loggia surrounded by rounded, arched windows.
